About ReliaTech ReliaTech is a leading provider of high quality, professional and affordable computer repair service and Gold Star Certified Renewed Computers for consumers, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. ReliaTech’s services include on-site dispatched technical support to residential consumers and small businesses, ReliaCare managed service for small and medium-sized businesses, and walk-in computer repair service at our two locations. ReliaTech is also a major refurbisher of computers, helping the environment by diverting usable equipment and recycling equipment that is at the end of life. We have the capacity to process 10,000 computers per year. These machines, which are put through a rigorous 25-step process, are then distributed to low-income individuals, schoolchildren, churches, schools, senior centers and other institutions in our community. We rely on local individuals and companies to help us with this program by donating their out-of-service computers and computer-related equipment. We make a positive impact in our community by providing great computers at remarkably low cost. Our refurbishing operation provides paid internships for Stride Center students, who receive valuable training and experience while contributing to the environment and the community. About Recycling and E-WasteThough we strongly believe that reuse is the best use of old IT equipment, sometimes an old computer is no longer useable. When that happens, ReliaTech's recycling team takes over. When we accept E-Waste, nothing is shipped overseas, and nothing ends up in a landfill. We carefully disassemble each piece of equipment so that we can efficiently recycle the basic materials it contains. We only work with carefully vetted downstream recycling companies to ensure that they uphold the highest standards. We accept E-Waste without charge. We take anything with a cord or batteries except large appliances. We make a free pickup in the Bay Area, if donations meet our minimum quantity requirements. A thriving social enterprise ReliaTech is the social venture of The Stride Center (www.stridecenter.org), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. the Stride Center provide training in technology and job placement services for low income adults. ReliaTech provides on-the-job, hands-on technology training, a transition path into the technology field, and employment for some Stride Center graduates. Ultimately, the ReliaTech social enterprise is designed to enhance The Stride Center’s impact within the community and provide a sustainable and growing source of income for The Stride Center programs. |
